Our goal from the start was simple yet powerful: to showcase the stories of Iranians who have worked tirelessly and used their talents to make a global impact.
For us, the Iranian Podcast was never just a project. It was an opportunity to highlight extraordinary individuals, honor our culture, and share their successes with a broader audience. From the very beginning, we focused on selecting stories that would resonate with listeners and leave a lasting impression.
The journey was not always easy, but we believed in its importance, and it has truly been worth every step. Let's take a look back at some of the highlights of our episodes that have shaped this podcast into what it is today.
In our inaugural episode, we were joined by Tehran Von Ghasri, an Iranian-American comedian known for his unique humor and pride in his Iranian roots. Tehran introduced himself by saying, “I am Tehran, not the city, but the actual person!” His reflections on life and his belief that “nothing heals better than laughter” provided listeners with both inspiration and entertainment.
Episode two featured Jimmy Delshad, the former mayor of Beverly Hills, who shared his journey of perseverance and determination. Jimmy’s impactful words, “I wanted to prove I could succeed and make a name for Iranians because we are educated and capable people,” left a strong impression. He also shared a valuable lesson: “Don’t accept ‘no’; instead, say ‘not now, maybe later.’”
In episode three, we welcomed Melissa Shoshahi, a talented comedian, who spoke about the strength and resilience of Iranian women. “Iranian women are the most fearless and strong,” she stated, highlighting the empowering nature of her culture. Melissa’s character, “Mercedes,” has captured the hearts of audiences around the world, showcasing how challenges can fuel growth and laughter.
Neema Naz, an Iranian-Canadian comedian, joined us in episode four to discuss his lifelong passion for comedy and how he built his career around it. He shared that every day he reminds himself, “why I chose this path.” Neema also introduced his personal brand, “eStupid,” a concept inspired by humorous childhood interactions with his mother.
In episode five, Dr. Ali Khadem Hosseini, a renowned scientist in biotechnology, shared insights from his groundbreaking work in tissue engineering. Dr. Hosseini, a professor at Harvard and MIT, believes that “research should be applied in real-world settings, not just stay in academics.” His work is a testament to how science can change lives.
Reza Rouhani, an accomplished composer and pianist, joined us in episode six to talk about his music and how it reflects his Iranian identity. Born into an artistic family, Reza shared his challenges and triumphs in the music world. His quote, “I’ve always tried to redefine what it means to be an Iranian pianist,” encapsulated his commitment to blending Eastern and Western music styles.
In episode seven, Arash Homampour, a dedicated lawyer, shared his perspective on justice and personal integrity. Arash believes that “his strength as a lawyer is his commitment to justice, not business.” His philosophy is clear: “Success is not just about being the best lawyer but about being the best human.”
As the podcast evolved, we realized that it could be more than just a platform for sharing the stories of successful individuals. We wanted to expand its scope and add value to our audience by introducing two new segments: Marketing and Podcasting.
Now, we structure our episodes so that even-numbered episodes focus on Marketing, and odd-numbered ones delve into the world of Podcasting.
In our Marketing episodes, we share real-life examples, insights, and practical tips on building a lasting brand. From global branding strategies like Donald Trump’s to technological breakthroughs by Elon Musk, each episode offers valuable lessons for those seeking to elevate their brand or business.
On the other hand, our Podcasting episodes focus on our own experiences and learnings in creating a memorable podcast. We discuss how to find unique topics, create an engaging voice, and foster a lasting connection with your audience. These episodes are about growing together with our listeners as we learn and share our journey.
